The sun is setting in Fruita. I’m sitting outside the public library, but it’s getting late and I need to start my drive up the hill, to home and dinner and sunwashed sandstone. I have so much to write about, and I’ll tell you all about it soon. My parents were here for nearly five days, which was a precious time; I am so lucky to have parents who are geniuses, kind and funny and adventurous, who make me feel like a better person merely by being in their presence. We saw many beautiful things and had many beautiful conversations. And I have all kinds of other things to write about as well. The last two days I camped in beautiful places, swam in the dark under stars, spent time with more people I am incredibly lucky to have met. There are stresses in my life – a complete lack of financial security right now is a big one, for example – but when it comes right down to it, there is nothing I could possibly complain about. I am sending love right back out at this generous universe.
Sorry for being a mushpot. More stories and witticisms soon, I promise.
P.S. Thanks to Alina for much mail and Irene for an amazing card!! And Grandma for cute pandas.
